Shoestring Portraits

ABOUT

Welcome to my 10 quirky shoestring portraits, created using a drawing technique I love – the It’s Fun Not looking at The Page method.

I have created these portraits over intuitive monoprints of pre-loved audiotapes.

The portraits represent my take on people around me, on the TV, in books …… I don’t always recall who I have drawn and the people I draw may not even know they have been drawn.

The final drawings are attached to Pop art-like painted panels, then expertly framed by Michael Cleary. The frames are without glass; allowing you to see the worked surface.

These works on paper were included in my 2024 Less is More exhibition with Lindesay Dresdon at SOL Gallery in Melbourne.
